How to perform thermal protection for single-phase motors
Devices that use single-phase motors can use thermal protection to protect single-phase motors to avoid economic losses caused by burning motors and windings due to motor heating. So, how to perform thermal protection for single-phase motors?

For single-phase motors that start and run by capacitors, at the common lead of the main and auxiliary windings, for the shaded-pole shaded-pole motors, a thermal protector is connected in series to the end of the machine winding with a white tape. When a single-phase motor is connected to a single-phase AC power supply and runs, the motor will generate heat due to copper and iron losses. When the temperature inside the motor is equal to the operating temperature of the thermal protector, the thermal protector is automatically disconnected, there is no current in the line, and the motor stops rotating. When the temperature drops to 70 ~ C, after the motor is stopped for 3 to 5 minutes, the thermal protector in the motor automatically turns on the power again, and the motor runs again.

In addition, for single-phase motors, it is best to use a thermal protector with automatic reset.
