The temperature sensor consists of a sensor, capillary tube, membrane and filling medium. As the sensor heats up, the filling medium is heated and expands. The expansion of the filling medium results in an increase in pressure in the closed system. This pressure increase is converted into a path in the membrane.

The converted path or stroke actuates a snap switch and thus causes the contacts in the electrical circuit to open and close. The reference variable is specified via an adjusting spindle on the temperature controller. The temperature controllers work with very short travel distances. A distance of 0.01 mm corresponds to temperatures of approx. 3 K in the baking area.

With their stainless steel probe and flexible capillary tube, temperature regulators for heating devices are suitable for use in devices in which control elements and heaters are arranged in a wide variety of areas.
