Thermal Fuse Resistor

Thermal fuse resistance is also called fuse resistance. Thermal fuse resistors have both functions of resistance and fuse, and are only used as resistors at ordinary times. When the current is too large, it will play the role of the fuse to protect the mechanical equipment. The color of the chip fuse resistor is usually green, and the surface is marked with the white number 000 or the rated current value. When the circuit load is short-circuit fault or over-current, the temperature of the fuse resistance will reach 500c, 600c in a short time. At this time, the resistive layer is peeled off due to the heat and is blown, which serves as an insurance for the purpose of improving the safety of the entire machine.

There are many types of fusing resistors, including general resistors and other shapes. The most commonly used are the following five.

(1) Fuse resistance resembling a diode or a magnetic bead

The shape of this fuse resistor is similar to that of a rectifier diode. The overall shape is black, but there is no white ring for diode polarity display. The surface generally shows the magnitude of its current, such as 1, 5a text. This fuse resistor is usually used in the computer's optical drive and the motherboard's keyboard/mouse interface circuit.

(2) The fuse resistor in the shape of a small white square
The shape of this fusing resistor is similar to that of a chip electrolytic capacitor, but its color is white, and the surface indicates the maximum current, such as 400mA, which means that the maximum current through which it passes is 400mA.

(3) Fuse resistance resembling ordinary resistor
Fuse resistors of this shape are often used in some low-level motherboards, optical drives and displays. Its shape is similar to ordinary resistors, and its color is generally green or chromatic, part of which is described with current value (for example, 1.1A/2A), and part of which is described with color ring.

(4) Gray flat fuse resistor
The fusing resistance of this shape is similar to the flat-ton-shaped chip inductor. With symbols such as LF110, it is usually used for motherboards, 9-pin serial communication interfaces of notebook computers, 25-pin Paralympic channel communication interfaces, and external display interfaces.

(5) Green flat fuse resistor
This fusing resistance is a general fusing resistance. There are current marks such as X26, X15, and 1×1 on it, indicating that its current is 2.6A, 1.5A, and 1A, respectively.
Through the above article, we can clearly understand that the more commonly used fuse resistors can be divided into five types according to their shape characteristics. I will not repeat the specific five types in this editor.
